Xiaomi Set to Launch Redmi S2 with 16MP Selfie Camera as Redmi Y2 in India

Xiaomi recently launched a budget selfie centric phone Redmi S2 in China. The company has priced the handset at 999 Yuan. This handset looks quite similar as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Recently Xiaomi teased to launch a new handset in India under Y-series on 7th of June 2018. It might be Y2 which will be the successor of last year launched Xiaomi Y1. There is no official confirmation regarding the recently launched S2 will be launching as Y2 in India. But the teased image looks similar to that, but as of now there is no information regarding this.

The device sports a 5.99-inch HD+ display having a resolution of 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB and 4GB RAM variants comes with 32GB and 64GB of internal storage.

This device has a triple card slot with two nano SIM and one dedicated microSD card slot. The handset came with Android 8.1 Oreo based on MIUI 9 out of the box. In camera department this device has a 12MP+5MP dual rear camera and a 16MP single Front camera.

This device is packed with 3080mAh non-removable battery. It offers both face and fingerprint lock options. As far as connectivity is concerned it comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 42, GPS, IR Blaster, 3.5mm audio jack.

Xiaomi will not change the specs for sure to the Redmi Y2 smartphone.
