Samsung Galaxy Fold, First Foldable smartphone Launched

After numerous leaks and rumors Samsung has finally launched the most awaited Samsung Galaxy Fold. This is the first foldable smartphone to be launched. The company was talking about this handset from last one year and now they finally launched the device in Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. The Samsung is writing the next chapter of mobile innovation history by this launch.

The main highlight of the smartphone is its new technology. The all new smartphone combines two screens in one device. The one main flexible display is of 7.3-inches and the secondary screen is of 4.6 inches. This handset is for those who want the latest technology in their hand. This device is the luxury device.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Specification and Features Highlights

Moving towards the specification and feature highlights of the Samsung galaxy Fold, it comes with dual display. On the outside it has a 4.6 inch HD+ super AMOLED display having 21:9 aspect ratio. The second is a 7.3 inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED display having 4.2:3 aspect ratio. Samsung call named this display “Infinity Flex Display”. This handset is powered by 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor coupled woth 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. This smartphone didn’t support any microSD card to expand the storage.

In terms of Camera, Samsung Galaxy Fold have total 6 cameras. Three are placed at the rear, two are placed at inside and one is on the front. Let’s start from the front, it have a 10MP selfie camera on the outside. At back it has a triple rear camera setup which consists of 12MP wide angle lens with dual aperture, the second one is of 12MP telephoto lens and the third one is a 16MP ultra wide angle sensor. Now when the device is unfold. There are two cameras inside, one is of 10MP and the second is of 8MP

For powering this smartphone Samsung has used two batteries in the phone which are placed on two sides of the handset. The batteries combine their energy and offer a total capacity if 4,380mAh.

Apart from the new display innovation the company has also worked on its UI. According to the Samsung, they have worked with Google and the developer community at large to make user that everything is working perfectly or not. User can use simultaneously three apps on the large 7.3 inch display.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Price and Availability

According to Samsung, they will start selling the smartphone from 26th of April 2019 only in selected countries, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is priced at $1980 (around Rs. 1,41,300) and it will be available in balck, blue, silver and green color options.

The company has also said that the handset will be available in both 4G as well as 5G variants.

There is no word on its pre-order or India launch. Let’s see on 26th of April in which countries they are going to make available for purchase. Many other brands like Xiaomi, Lenovo, Huawei also working on foldable device. Even Apple is also recently hinted at developing some foldable device.
