Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 8 smartphone in India. The all new Redmi 8 is the successor of Redmi 7 which was launched few months back. It comes with a waterdrop notch at the top of the display, dual rear camera setup, 5,000mAh battery and USB Type-C port.
Apart from these all the handset comes with a new “Aura Mirror Design” at the back. The new Redmi Phone comes just few days after the company launched the Xiaomi Redmi 8A a budget smartphone from Xiaomi.

Moving towards the Redmi 8 Specs and Feature highlights, it features a 6.22-inch HD+ dot notch display. The display comes with corning gorilla glass 5 protections. This handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor coupled with upto 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The storage can be further expanded via using dedicated microSD card slot.
In terms of Camera, the all new Redmi 8 comes with dual rear camera setup which includes a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor having f/1.8 aperture and 2MP depth sensor. Company has claimed that the primary rear camera sensor is identical to what they has featured on the Mi Mix 2S and Poco F1. On front it comes with 8MP front facing camera. Both camera are comes with AI features and it also support Face Unlock.
The all new Redmi 8 runs on MIUI 10 over Android 10 out of the box. In terms of network and connectivity options it includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Infrared, Wireless FM radio, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. The handset also comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. It bears a big 5,000mAh battery which comes with support of 18W fast charging support.
Redmi 8 Price & Availability in India
The all new Redmi 8 is launched in India in two variants one comes with 3GB of RAM + 32GB of internal storage while the other one comes with 4GB of RAM+64GB of internal storage and it ahs been priced at Rs. 7,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively.
The company has announced a Diwali offer in which for the first five million units, the handset 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant will be sold at Rs. 7,999 and those customer who will order 3GB RAM variant will also get upgraded to the 4GB RAM variant.
