Microsoft announced Android Powered Foldable Smartphone: Report


The famous software making brand Microsoft has just announced its much waiting Surface branded smartphone which will be named as Microsoft Surface Duo. The all new Microsoft Surface Duo will be the first Android powered smartphone that every Microsoft surface device lovers were waiting for.

As a part of announcement the company also revealed that the official launch of this device will take place in the Holiday season next year it means it will be around Christmas in 2020. They also said that they are working with Google to craft this new device.

At the time of announcement the company also showed the Microsoft Surface Duo in a video, to what to expect from the Microsoft Surface Duo smartphone. The video highlights that the Surface Duo will feature two screens that will fold together to make it compact. Microsoft Chief Product Officer Panos Panay stated that both the screens will be 5.6-inch in size. He also explained that how both the screens will work with Android to provide a seamless experience. The company also revealed how Microsoft is making the handset more better than currently available foldable smartphone from Samsung and Huawei.

The company is working hard to ensure that all the Android apps will be compatible with Microsoft surface Duo.  The most interesting thing is that now Microsoft will complement the larger Windows 10x powered Surface Neo with Android. The company also mentioned that they have involved the software developers in development process for apps. So there might be some software related information regarding this device in coming months.

It seems like Microsoft will prepare hard and then launch the actual product to give a tough fight to Samsung, Huawei and other foldable smartphones. The handset look simple and similar to other surface products, as this device will officially launch next year then there is good chance that company will reveal some more details in coming months.
